Seita (right) and Alek (left) are preparing the ice corer for use in another day when they get out on the ice. They will core the ice like coring an apple and then will cut the thin ice column into ten-centimeter lengths, transport them back to the Louis where each one will melt before they measure the salinity.

Sarah convenes a meeting with the Captain, Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, Bosun, and the buoy and mooring people like Rick, Will, Jeff, Cory, and Chris. Alek and Seita are in this meeting too because they are here to do an array of ice observations out on the ice.
