Andrew D. Bowen

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution

Bowen serves as lead principal investigator (PI), responsible for overall leadership of this project and for overall strategic planning, scheduling, budget authority, and personnel. He oversees the overall mechanical, electrical, and systems design, and direct at-sea operations.

Yoerger serves as a co-PI responsible for vehicle control, acoustic telemetry, navigation, vehicle manipulation strategy, and the science sensor suite.

Bradley is an engineer who has experience with autonomous underwater vehicles at WHOI, including the vehicles ABE and Sentry. His background has helped the Nereus team overcome numerous technical challenges.

Gomez-Ibanez leads the design and development of both the lithium ion batteries and vehicle propulsion system.

Barbara Fletcher

Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) San Diego

Fletcher is an engineer and the project manager responsible for designing, building, testing, and integrating the fiber optic cable system for the HROV. Also consulting on the ceramic pressure vessel design and utilization.

Lumping designed the oil-filled junction boxes for Nereus and has also helped with a wide variety of mechanical design tasks.
