Support Services

Shipboard Technicians

WHOI maintains technicians aboard its three largest research vessels and also on shore.

Mooring and Rigging Services

The WHOI mooring construction and rigging shop offers a wide range of services and an extensive marine hardware inventory.

Diving Program

Diving operations at the Institution and aboard Institution vessels are governed by the WHOI Diving Program and supports approximately 50 divers.

Pressure Test Facility

WHOI maintains a facility in Woods Hole village with three vessels for external pressure testing of scientific and engineering equipment.

Calibration Facilities

Researchers at WHOI operate a CTD calibration laboratory and a meteorological calibration laboratory.

Shared Equipment

Various equipment that is available for use such as winches, coring equipment, CTD and navigation are in this section.
