International student explorers

During our month-long expedition to explore the Irminger Sea, students from four different countries that touch the North Atlantic Ocean--the United States, Greenland, Iceland, and the United Kingdom--will be joining us through this website.

Things to learn

Students are invited to read the daily dispatches and learn how scientists study the ocean and what they are learning. They will also find out what it is like to live on a ship for a month in the stormy Irminger Sea! Teachers or student class leaders will organize their class's questions and forward them to the scientists on their scheduled email dates. Answers from the science team will be posted the next day to the Email Exchange page.
