The Healy's propellers are driven by an electric motor, each producing 15,000 horse power. To power these motors, the Healy has four extremely large diesel engines. One or more of these are used at any one time (depending on how much power the motors need) to drive a generator which sends power to the propeller's motors. Here, Assistant Engineering Officer, Lieutenant Jeffery Drzewieki, explains this process in the motor room.
