September 22nd

The Healy has three machines onboard which turn sea water in to fresh water for many purposes such as drinking, showering and laundry. Unfortunately, two of these broke down during the cruise, meaning water was a precious commodity. To ensure we had enough, some spare parts were flown in by a C130 so we could fix the broken machines and build up our stocks of water. Here we see the C130 making the airdrop. On the first flyby, the C130 dropped a flare to mark where they were going to drop the package. The second time round, the C130 dropped the package attached to a parachute. The third time was just for fun!
