While this looks really uninteresting, the dramatic change from the blue to the green water that you see here indicates a change in depth and/or a front between two water parcels.  Tracing particular water parcels is a primary objective on this cruise.  A water parcel is a body of water that exists in the ocean; it has particular characteristics that differentiate it from other water parcels.  By studying water parcels, scientists can see how the world’s ocean circulations work!
