Sorry we didn't get a picture before it went down. It was definitely less squiggly before the trip.

These cups all went down to 6000 m.

The cups on the left went down to 4.3 km. The ones on the right to 6 km. Interesting...

Your Cup
Hello Mr Blanchet's Class,

Your cup, unlike many of the others, did not go down in the trench. With everybody making different cups for different schools we ended up forgetting to send yours down.

But...you have a very special cup. Using the artist's sketch of the original Melville that we found in the ship's library, our consummate artist, Carolina drew a detailed version of the ship on your 12 oz cup.

It was sent down to 5455m at station 112 (32.5S, 153.4W) in the Southwest Pacific Basin.
