This chart from Canadian Ice Service (CIS) displays today's ice-cover conditions in the Beaufort Sea. The red star marks the position of science Station A. The oval on the charts is referred to as the "Egg Code". The code is the international standard for reporting data related to ice concentration and properties. Today the total concentration of ice near Station A was 9/10 (the top line in the oval, for more information, see http://www.ec.gc.ca/glaces-ice/).
