After a successful day out on the ice yesterday and with the limited time left for us to work it was decided to do it all over again. Same people, similar work, but entirely different conditions. What began as a crummy day got worse as the wind picked up and a wet fog moved in on us. As the day went on the temp stayed just over freezing but with the wind and thick fog the damp and cool turned into wet and cold. This floe wasn't as big as the one before but we made it work. A couple of spots were a little crowded but everyone worked well together and I think we got done a little faster than the day before. Carlton Rauschenberg deployed the second O-Buoy, the WHOI/IOS/U Montana group in another ITP, ITM, and IMBB, and the JAMSTEC, TUMSAT, KIT, U Manitoba, Bangor, IOS, and U Alaska scientists conducted their surveys, sample collections, and other experiments. We got a lot done in short order!

After returning from the ice we all quickly changed into dry clothes and met up in the mess for a nice hot meal. Later we got together in the lounge for wings and a beer to celebrate the completion of the ice work and Captain McNeill's 35th anniversary with the Canadian Coast Guard! Congratulations Captain!
