Continuing our recognition of the officers and crew of the Louis that began with Dispatch 5, here are some more pictures of more members that are contributing to this year's cruise.

Chief Engineer Donald Stortts consults the ship's computers to locate a part for the engine. Gary Morgan, the ship's Carpenter, works with wood in the carpenter shop here, but also supports deck operations. The hospital of the Louis is well equipped to handle medical emergencies, as is the ship's Nurse Lori Swain.

Deckhand Brian Mackenzie is one of the operators of the winch to raise and lower the CTD. Stewards Jamie Mizuik and Flo Carter serve meals with smiles in the officer's mess, even to scientists like Kris Newhall. Chief Officer John Jenner retrieves the bear rifle after a helicopter reconnaissance. The rifle is used against animals only as a last resort.
